A Brief Look at a Canadian Icon

Over the past 90 years, Canadian Tire has grown into a part of Canadian culture.  With almost 500 Canadian Tire stores across Canada, it is no surprise that 90% of Canadians live within just 15 minutes of a store.

Canadian Tire has managed to stay a Canadian icon over the past 90 years due to it's ability to understand it's customers' needs and and stay relevant in an extremely competitive retail market.  I will be explaining to you some of the reasons why Canadian Tire is able to maintain it's position at the front of Canadian retail.

Canadian Tire employs 68,000 employees across it's business network of brands.  These brands include PartSource, Mark's, Forzani Group (SportChek), Canadian Tire Petroleum, and Canadian Tire Financial Services and also has a non-profit organization named "Jumpstart".

I shop at Canadian Tire whenever possible!  Other than the fact that I can't go into the store without leaving with a cart full of items thanks to the huge and diverse selection, I think it is important that we spend our money at Canadian companies whenever we can, to ensure the growth of these companies.

Do you shop at Canadian Tire on a regular basis? Did you know that companies such as SportChek or Mark's were part of the Canadian Tire group of companies?  Do you fall into the 80% of Canadians that shop at Canadian Tire at least once a week?  I know I do.  Make sure to enter your vote on how often you shop at Canadian Tire, and I will share the results in a future post.

Have a look at Canadian Tire's website and learn more about this Canadian staple of life and how they strive to give back to local communities.

Leave me a comment with something you found interesting about Canadian Tire or that surprised you!
